Nasser Fellowship Alumna Meets Armenian Foreign Minister
Rawan El Seifi, a political communication researcher and alumna of the Nasser International Leadership Fellowship (second cohort), had the honor of representing Egypt in the “Yerevan Youth Dialogue Fellows 2025” program hosted by Armenia. The program, held as part of the broader Yerevan Dialogue framework, brought together twenty-five young leaders from various countries around the world for an intensive week of engagement, by invitation from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the sidelines of the Yerevan Dialogue events Rawan El Seifi had the honor of meeting His Excellency Mr. Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The meeting reflects the importance placed on youth empowerment and the promotion of youth diplomacy.
During their cordial conversation, they discussed the deep and historic bilateral relations between Egypt and Armenia. Rawan pointed to a recent and tangible symbol of this strong connection: “Egypt Square” in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, and the Egyptian initiative to name a square in the New Administrative Capital after Armenia, as previously announced by His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt.
Rawan El Saifi highlighted the clear similarities in the foreign policies of both countries, especially their shared focus on values such as balance, peace, cooperation, and diversity in international relations. She observed this alignment firsthand during her participation in the activities and workshops of the Yerevan International Dialogue.
The Nasser alumna also had the opportunity to express her gratitude and appreciation to the Minister for the Yerevan Youth Dialogue initiative held in Armenia, praising the program and other related efforts. These moments with Minister Mirzoyan were a source of great pride and joy for her and for every young person interested in youth diplomacy and representing their country on international platforms.
It is worth noting that in a previous meeting with His Excellency Mr. Davit Karapetyan, Secretary General of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rowan El Saifi presented a proposal concerning youth diplomacy and ways to activate it between Egypt and Armenia. She also discussed the topic of sports diplomacy.
