Egypt Vision 2030
Egypt Vision 2030 is a national agenda launched in February 2016 that reflects the state's long term strategic plan to realize the principles and objectives of sustainable development in all fields and to nationalize them in the various bodies of the Egyptian state. Egypt Vision 2030 is based on the principles of "comprehensive sustainable development" and "balanced regional development." Moreover, Egypt Vision 2030 reflects the three scopes of sustainable development, that is, the economic scope, the social scope and the environmental scope.
Believing that these strategies are living documents, Egypt decided in early 2018 to upgrade its agenda for sustainable development with the involvement of all development partners of interest to keep up with the changes in the local, regional and international settings. The second edition of Egypt Vision 2030 took interest in the vision becoming an inspiring one that explains how the Egyptian contribution will serve the United Nations' agenda and in turn the international setting. The updated vision ensures that all issues are addressed and are interrelated from the perspective of the three scopes of sustainable development: the environmental, economic and social scopes, as it is a comprehensive and consistent vision that consists of sectoral strategies for the various government bodies.
Egypt Vision 2030 focuses on uplifting the quality of life of Egyptian citizens and Improving their standards of living in the different aspects of life through ensuring the establishment of the fundamentals of justice and social assimilation and the participation of all citizens in both political and social lives. This comes in conjunction with achieving a high level of inclusive and sustainable economic growth as well as promoting investment in humans and building their creative capacities by means of enhancing knowledge, creativity and scientific research in all fields. Egypt Vision 2030 emphasizes facing the consequences of climate changes through having a comprehensive and sustainable ecosystem that reinforces the versatility and ability to face natural threats. This vision also focuses on the governance of state's and society's institutions through making administrative reform, establishing transparency, supporting monitoring and assessment systems and empowering local administrations. All of these sought objectives fall within the framework of ensuring peace and security of Egypt and enhancing Egyptian leadership regionally and internationally.
