At the official invitation of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Federal Republic of Tanzania, "Menna Yasser,"  a graduate of the Nasser Scholarship for International Leadership, and the official coordinator of the Swahili language department of the Nasser Youth Movement, participated in a national celebration marking the sixty-first anniversary of Tanzania's independence, which was held yesterday evening in the capital, Dodoma, as one of the most prominent models of influential Egyptian youth, in the presence of senior state officials, including diplomats, decision makers, and media professionals, as well as executive leaders from various sectors in the country, as well as major international news agencies, including the German broadcaster "Deutsche Welle" and the "BBC" news agency in Swahili.


At the beginning of her speech, "Menna Yasser" expressed her happiness at the invitation to participate in an important national forum, pointing out that it meant a lot to her, as she is invited every year to celebrate this event in Egypt, but this year she is invited to attend and participate in the capital, Dodoma, coincidentally with the timing of her presence in the Federal Republic of Tanzania. She explained that the concept of African unity advocated by African leaders has always dreamed of being translated into realistic steps and positions, noting that her invitation to the National Forum as one of the inspiring models for young people made her take it upon herself to open greater horizons for her peers and villages of youth, stressing that language is the mouthpiece The people, who in turn strive through the Swahili language to reach other people in wider parts of the continent and even outside it, convey through it their identity and history and represent them before the world with a lofty self and confidence in a bright future for their continent, Introducing the catchphrase, "If not us, then who! If not now, when? is a metaphor for the aspirations of the African peoples that we wish to see realized.

 


Menna Yasser's professional career is full of many societal contributions that support youth, especially among students. She is considered one of the most influential activists in the field of African studies. She has many cultural and intellectual contributions in both Arabic and Swahili. She is the first Egyptian to publish a book in the Swahili language, "NJIANI" in the field of self-development and human development, additionally to her extensive radio shows on online radio. in addition to being a master's researcher at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. She recently joined the Faculty of Graduate African Studies at Cairo University to obtain a master's degree in linguistics in Swahili. Moreover, in 2019, she joined a volunteer programme with the African Union and then worked as a lecturer of the Swahili language at the "Community of Babel" company. She also works as a director and official in charge of the Swahili language in one of the medical sectors in the Federal Republic of Tanzania, in addition to her work as a translator of the Swahili language at the African Youth Office (the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports) from 2018 until now.

Finally, it should be noted that the Nasser Youth Movement appreciates the efforts of its youth four years after its founding and is proud of the confident steps taken by its leaders and members in their professional paths and their highly influential field work. The Nasser Scholarship for International Leadership, whose number of graduates from 2019 to date has reached about 420, is an investment in the energies of youth, in the areas of development and peacebuilding, refining skills, and transferring national experiences, as it is a comprehensive platform for the most influential youth on the level of five continents (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Australia), its coordinators work diligently to develop their peers and enhance their participation at the national and international levels.
