Abdel Nasser liked Tahia and wanted to marry her, but her brother refused at the first time, because he wanted her older sister to get married first, and after a year passed, Nasser came again to propose marriage, after Tahia's sister got married, and her brother agreed. The engagement took place, and five months later the wedding took place and they got married.
In her diaries, Mrs.Tahia wrote about Nasser that when he was speaking to his children while laughing he said: "The only one in the world who imposed condition on me and i accepted them is Abdel Hamid Kazem".
Mrs.Tahia wrote about the details of her life and memories with her husband since they got to know each other, and talked about Abdel Nasser as a lover, husband, father and grandfather, as she wrote about her existence with him during the various political events. Her book "Memories with Him" ​​published by Dar Al-Shorouk in 2011.
Tahaia Kazem was born on March 1, 1920 in Egypt, her father was a carpet seller, and she lived with President Abdel Nasser before and after his rule until his death. She gave birth to 5 children: Mona, Hoda, Khaled, Abdel Hakim, and Abdel Majid. She passed away on March 25, 1992, and buried next to her husband in fulfillment of her desire when she said on the day of Nasser’s death: "I have lived for eighteen years, and the presidency of the republic has not change me, nor the wife of the president of the republic, and I will not ask for anything after that, just I want a place for me next to the president to be by his side, and all I hope is to lie down next to him".
