Dr. Ragaa Magdy: A Driving Force for Sustainable Change in Academia, Entrepreneurship, and Global Initiatives
Dr. Ragaa Magdy is a dynamic figure making significant strides in academia, entrepreneurship, and global sustainability efforts. With a rich background in pharmaceutical analytical chemistry, she seamlessly blends her scientific expertise with a passion for driving sustainable solutions and empowering communities.
Dr. Magdy's academic credentials are exemplary. She holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable and Green Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry from Ain Shams University. Her contributions to the field are evident in her authorship of 14 international research papers, focusing on green chemistry and sustainability. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor at the Canadian University in Egypt, where she imparts her knowledge to the next generation of pharmacists.
Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. Magdy – a graduate of the 4th cohort of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership – is a successful entrepreneur. She is the Founder and CEO of RUJA Natural Cosmetics and Skincare Products, a company that prioritizes natural, sustainable, and effective products. She serves as a Consultant for UN Women on the Women's Empowerment Principles and is a member of the Sharjah Sports Sustainability Committee in the UAE. Her commitment to addressing global challenges is also reflected in her role as a Consultant, Evaluator, and Mentor for the Police and Deliberations Challenge 2024 at the World Food Forum (WFP/FAO), where she contributes to climate action initiatives. She was also an active participant in COP27.
Furthermore, Dr. Magdy is a dedicated trainer and mentor. She leads the Sustainable Healthcare Systems Initiative, providing training in entrepreneurship, sustainability, and gender equality. At the Ahram Canadian University in Egypt, she serves as an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund Officer, guiding students in transforming their innovative ideas into viable startups.
Dr. Magdy's dedication to fostering entrepreneurship is also evident through her role as a mentor in the MicroMentor program (Mercy Corps), where she guides entrepreneurs in climate change mitigation, adaptation, and climate finance.
