Juliana Celidonio Degani
Juliana Degani is a recent International Relations undergraduate by the University of São Paulo, where she researched environmentally displaced persons, denationalized citizenship, globalization dynamics, human rights and climate change. She is co-founder of the Lélia Gonzalez Collective for Black Women and Men of USP, a youth-led group focused on empowering future black leaders and promoting the exchange between the university and society - a space also dedicated to advocacy towards affirmative action in access to Higher Education in Brazil. Professionally, Juliana has been active in the international arena as an active member of the European Commission’s Youth Sounding Board for International Partnerships since 2021, representing youth demands on peace, security, humanitarian action, climate change, agriculture, migration and socio economic inclusion. Juliana also participates in SheDecides Youth Accountability Panel, supporting local advocacy movements to change national legislations regarding youth in the sexual and reproductive rights and health area, including bodily autonomy and gender equality. Her start point was G20’s Y20 Summit of 2021 as the Brazilian Delegate on Inclusion and Equal Opportunities for Youth. She aspires to continue as a human rights worker, being an active tool of change in humanitarian settings, whether on the field or in a negotiation table.
