In the challenging world of journalism—where only those fueled by passion and perseverance survive—Iman Elwarraky, the Egyptian investigative journalist, has risen as one of the most prominent names in the field. Her professional journey has been marked by courage, diligence, and remarkable achievements.
A graduate of Cairo University's Faculty of Mass Communication, Iman began her journalism career in 2007, working with some of Egypt’s leading newspapers including Al-Dostor, Al-Karama, Al-Sabah, Youm7, and Aswat Masriya, affiliated with Reuters. But she was never just a reporter delivering news—she was a truth-seeker, delving deep into details, wielding a fearless pen.
Iman made a significant impact with investigations that sparked wide public discourse—most notably, her bold campaign exposing extremist influences in Al-Azhar's curriculum and faculty. Her work prompted national attention and contributed to the formation of a special committee by Al-Azhar’s Grand Imam to revise educational materials and hold the involved professors accountable.
She also served as a presenter on the “Great Women of Egypt” program on Youm7 TV, where her fearless reporting and on-screen presence earned her the respect of both audiences and media peers.
Iman's passion for journalism extended beyond reporting. She launched the "Artificial Intelligence Revolution" initiative—the first of its kind in Egypt—to train journalists in using AI tools and integrating them into the newsroom, keeping pace with the accelerating digital transformation.
Her excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Arab Journalism Award, the Ihsan Abdel Quddous Award for Journalistic Excellence, the Siemens Award, and multiple honors from the Egyptian Journalists’ Syndicate—reflecting the professional community's trust in her credibility and impact.
Currently, she is writing a book that reinterprets religious texts from a critical, humanistic perspective—away from ideological dominance. She continues to publish insightful articles and investigations on Jusoor Post, addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, climate change, and extremism through an analytical lens.
