I was fascinated by the achievements of Nasser in Egypt; he was a great leader who did for his country and for the rest of the world. As he said in one of his speeches: "My fellow citizens, my blood sheds for you and for Egypt. I will live for your salvation and die for the salvation of your freedom and honor. Let them kill me. I care not because I breathed pride, honor and freedom into you. If Gamal Abdel Nasser should die, you will all be Gamal Abdel Nasser. Gamal Abdel Nasser is one of you and he is ready to sacrifice his life for the nation".

Gamal Abdel Nasser's heart beat only for Egypt. For example, on July 26, 1956, Nasser gave a speech in Alexandria in which he announced the nationalization of the Suez Canal Company to finance the construction of the Aswan Dam following the Anglo-American withdrawal. of (from) suez allows (which allowed) Egypt to have (earn/generate) 15 million dollars a day.

The line in the Nasser phenomenon between genuine expression of popular approval and state propaganda is sometimes hard to distinguish. But one historical fact is certain: Gamal Abdel Nasser means the only truly Egyptian development project in the country's history since the end of the pharaohs. There were other projects, but this one was different in its origins, means and impact. For Nasser was a man from Egypt who overthrew the finest and most established monarchy in the Middle East in a swift and peaceful coup and who, acclaimed by millions of poor and oppressed Egyptians, initiated a program of “social justice”, “progress and development” and “dignity”.
