Today, Seychelles is celebrating its 46th anniversary of independence

Seychelles gained independence from the British colonizer on June 29, 1976. The island of Seychelles came under the French control at the first time in 1756, noting that the island was not owned by anyone except that it was subjected to a number of attempts to be controlled by European countries until #France claimed the ownership of the island and Seychelles officially became a French colony in 1770.

Following the war that took place between France and #Britain in 1814, Britain took control of the island and Seychelles became part of the British Crown. The movement towards independence began gradually until the 1974 elections took place, and the two political parties in Seychelles launched an extensive campaign for independence until Seychelles gained its independence on June 29, 1976.
