Anniversary of Tunisia's independence .. A history of the struggle of Tunisian people

In 1881, Tunisia became under the French protection, and gradually that protection turned into colonialism in which France tried to plunder the country and seize its wealth, and force the Tunisian people by suppressing all ways of resistance, exile, and make multiple assassinations. However, all methods of threat failed to silence and stop the resistance of Tunisian people and their courage in confronting the colonialism, and the blood of the martyrs continued to flow for the sake of liberation, then France realized that it can not exist in this country again and its attempts to control Tunisia have failed.

When the armed resistance of the Tunisian people caused severe damage to the colonial French army, France began negotiations on granting Tunisia its internal independence, and the internal independence of Tunisia was announced on July 31, 1954. But this decision was not satisfactory to the national leaders who demand complete independence. Further negotiations took place in which the two parties, the Tunisian negotiating government led by Habib Bourguiba, and the government of France, reached an agreement to declare the full independence of Tunisia on March 20, 1956.

The Egyptian-Tunisian relations are characterized by solidity and interdependence in all aspects, especially with the existence of many common issues adopted by the two countries regarding the Arab and African affairs, as well as the mutual support of the two countries in various regional and international organizations. Also, the relations between Egypt and Tunisia extend to ancient times and have historical roots since the Fatimids moved from Kairouan to Cairo, and the Hilalis moved from southern Egypt to Tunisia, which led to the mixing of the Egyptian and Tunisian personality.
