Nasser Fellowship alumnus as Office Director of South Sudan's Ministry of  Water Resources and Irrigation 

Mr Pal Mai Deng, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of South Sudan issued an official resolution to appoint Jatek Wishar, a graduate of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership as Executive Director of his Sovereignty Office. The decision comes as part of the new administrative changes and restructuring announced by the Minister's Office on Thursday, 11 May 2023.

Jatek Wishar had recently served as spokesperson for the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of South Sudan. He also has a succesful career and  experience in media coordination. He participated in the leadership of the Republic of South Sudan at the first National Cairo Youth Conference for South Sudan under the slogan "For the present and future South Sudan", April 2021, within the Nile Valley Unity Project. He then worked as a volunteer journalist for the International Media Group for the Nasser Fellowship for  International Leadership, which was a milestone, illuminating and even a pivotal step in his media and journalistic career as he put it. In addition, he addressed many societal issues through his writings and articles.

For his part, Hassan Ghazaly, Founder and General Coordinator of the Nasser Movement and Fellowship for International Leadership, appreciated the tireless efforts of the political leadership of the Republic of South Sudan in the field of youth empowerment. He noted the need to invest in the potentials of young people and enhance their participation in different fields as a building block in a better tomorrow industry for homelands. He pointed out the Nasser Fellowship  keenness to build the fundamental thinking and identity of the participants and to encourage them to convey and apply them in their countries when they assume leadership and political positions. Finally, he looked forward to seeing the impact of the concepts and foundations embedded by the fellowship with the participants, as reflected in the institutional work of the Executive Director.

The Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership was preparing to launch its fourth edition, with the participation of 150 young leaders representing about 90 countries around the world under the slogan "Youth of Non-Aligned and South-South Cooperation",  under the auspices of the National Press Authority and His Excellency President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi.
