President of the Police Academy welcomes the youth delegations participating in the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership
Today, Monday, the Police Academy welcomed the youth leaders participating in the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser’s Fellowship for International Leadership, in its third edition, as part of the activities of the sixth day of the fellowship, which is organized under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, during the period from May 31 to June 17, 2022 at The Engineering Authority House, Cairo, entitled “Non-Aligned Youth and South-South Cooperation."
The participants, in the third batch of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership were welcomed by Major General Hani Abu Al-Makarem, Assistant Minister of Interior and Head of the Police Academy, and a number of Police Academy leaders, in the presence of Hassan Ghazali, General Coordinator of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership.
At the beginning of his speech, Major General Hani Abu Al-Makarem, Assistant Minister of Interior and Head of the Police Academy, welcomed the members of the participating delegations of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, conveying to them the greetings of Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Interior, who pays great attention to the activities of this visit, based on a conscious awareness of Egypt’s pioneering role and history and what it represents. The visit, which is organized within the framework of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy, aimed at strengthening cooperation and bridging gaps of communication with all institutions and bodies from different countries of the world. Moreover, it embodies the existing cooperation between Ministry of Interior and Minstry of Youth and Sports in fields of training youth cadres from all over the world which enchances cooperation between Egypt and the countries of the four continents participating in the fellowship activities.
The activities of the visit of the youth delegations participating in the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership to the Police Academy included watching a documentary film reviewing the activities of the academy with its various entities, followed by an inspection tour inside the academy, during which the fellowship participants inspected the academy’s facilities and the capabilities it boasts that made it at the forefront of institutions concerned with specialized security training at the regional and international level. The tour of the youth delegations participating in the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, during their visit to the Police Academy, included a visit to the Police Research Center, where their role in training security cadres from friendly African and foreign countries and its police research activities were identified as the specialized scientific body in the ministry, as well as a visit to the Egyptian center for Training on Peacekeeping Operations affiliated to the College of Training and Development, which is responsible for preparing national and foreign security cadres of the United Nations to participate in peacekeeping missions, as well as the College of Post-Graduate Studies as the distinguished scientific and security entity at the level of the Middle East in granting those officers who wish to join its diplomas accredited certificates (Master’s, Ph.D.), and the Police College, in which they learned about the efforts exerted in preparing and rehabilitating the Police College students in a modern and scientific manner.
The inspection tour of the participants in the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, in its third edition, at the Police Academy also included identifying the role of all the academy entities in employing data science to achieve the security, Where the most important training and educational facilities located within the academy were inspected (the field of challenge and fitness - training battlefields - self-defense - the field of security technical training on the functional specialization with the simulation system, watching the students' presentations in the skills of dismantling and installing weapons, watching the distinguished presentations of the General Administration of Training security and guard dogs). Souvenir photos were taken and souvenirs were distributed to the guests participating in the visit.
The participants in the third batch of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership expressed their sincere thanks to the Egyptian Ministry of Interior represented by the Police Academy for the warm reception during this visit, which allowed them to learn about the Academy’s role in preparing and qualifying security men, especially its role in training security cadres, praising the role of the Police Academy's historic and distinguished role, which is not only limited to preparing and rehabilitating officers at the national level, but also extends to include security cadres from Arab and African countries.
For his part, Hassan Ghazali, General Coordinator of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, thanked the Minister of Interior, the President of the Police Academy and the leaders of the Ministry of Interior for this visit, which comes within the framework of the role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to inform the youth of the world of the efforts made within the Police Academy to prepare and qualify contemporary security men from While following the latest international systems and methods that they see abroad. He emphasized that Egypt has a long experience in consolidating and building national institutions. Ghazali called on the participants to stand for a minute of mourning for the souls of the nation's martyrs, after which he repeated, "Long live Egypt, long live Egypt."
Ghazali also indicated that in the coming days, several tours and visits will be organized within the activities of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, in its third edition, to various regions in order to familiarize the youth delegations participating in the fellowship with the modern Egyptian achievements in various fields in addition to giving them the opportunity to listen and see the Egyptian civilization and its ancient archaeological sites that attract the hearts and eyes of people from different countries of the world.
It is worth noting that the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, in its third edition, aims to create a generation of young leaders from the Non-Aligned Countries with a vision in line with the South-South Partnership, and raise awareness of the role of the Non-Aligned Movement historically and its future role, in addition to activating the role of the Youth Network of the Member States of the Non-Aligned Movement NYN and networking the most influential young leaders at the level of non-aligned countries and friendly countries.
