National Press Authority
The National Press Authority, formerly the Supreme Council for media, was established in 2016 as an independent body with legal personality in the exercise of its functions and competencies.
It is not permissible to interfere in its affairs and its headquarters in the governorate of Cairo.
This is when President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi issued Republic resolutions 158, 159 and 160 establishing the Supreme Council for Media Organization, the National Press Authority and the National Information Authority, in accordance with the provisions and articles of Law 92 of 2016.
It stipulates that the Council and the aforementioned bodies shall be constituted on the institutional organization of the press and the media.
The National Press Authority is affiliated with several national institutions, including Al-Ahram Foundation, Akhbar el-Yom News Foundation, Al-Hilal Press and Publishing House, the Middle East News Agency, El Kawmiah Distribution Company ,Dar El Tahrir for Printing and Publishing, Rosa El Youssef Press and Publishing House, Daralmaref Pressand Publishing House.
