Nasser Alumni in  European Union Youth Sounding Board

The European Union launched the Youth Sounding Board as a way of promoting youth participation and implementing the youth action plan and earlier this month, The European Union in Malawi unveiled it's inaugural Youth Sounding Board. Nasser Alumni from Malawi, Godfrey Malongo Jnr was one of the young people selected to serve as a board member for the Youth Sounding Board. Godfrey is a young leader working in advocacy and youth development in Malawi and beyond and has led various initiatives promoting Meaningful and Inclusive Youth Participation.

"The Youth Sounding Board provides me with the Opportunity to advocate for deliberate efforts towards youth development" said Godfrey after being selected to represent young people in the board. Among other things, the board will advise the European Union on the design and implementation of selected development cooperation initiatives specifically those affecting young people, help in making EU programing more inclusive of youth and assist in making EU interventions more effective.

"As an advocate for youth, this opportunity will not only help us highlight various issues that young people are facing but also act as a bridge between young people and the European Union and I'm geared up to see how this partnership serves the interests of young people in Malawi" added Godfrey.

Hassan Ghazaly the founder of the Nasser Youth Movement has always encouraged the members of the movement to "always penetrate in decision making spaces towards ensuring that youth voices are heard and respected".
As board members, the selected youths will serve for 2 years while empowering others to speak up, create real partnerships and make EU action more relevant to the youth population in Malawi.
