Ahmed Rezk: A Distinguished Career in Industrial Development and International Cooperation
Since the start of his professional journey in 2004, Ahmed Rizk has demonstrated excellence in economics and industrial development, establishing himself as one of the leading experts in economic development policies and international cooperation. He began his career as an economic researcher at the Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies (CEFRS) after graduating from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, contributing to specialized studies in both local and international economics.
Ahmed later joined the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC), where he worked as an industrial development expert before being appointed Director of the National Policy Support Unit. This role strengthened his contribution to shaping Egypt’s economic strategies and policies. His career continued to progress as he took on the role of Deputy Executive Director for Policy and International Cooperation at the Export Development Authority. In this capacity, he played a key role in designing policies to support Egyptian exports and enhance global trade relations.
In 2018, Ahmed Rizk embarked on a new chapter by joining the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), serving as National Program Officer at the organization’s regional office in Egypt. Through this role, he worked to promote sustainable industrial development in Egypt and the surrounding region. In 2022, he was promoted to Deputy Regional Representative at the same office, where he continued to lead strategic policy development and programs that support national industries and foster international cooperation.
Ahmed holds a master’s degree in Euro-Mediterranean Studies from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, in addition to an advanced certificate in international trade from the UK’s Institute of Export. Over the past 15 years, he has gained extensive experience in productivity development and project oversight, with strong technical expertise in market studies, export planning, development strategies, and policy reform. He also maintains strong relationships with government entities, international organizations, and donor-supported programs.
