The Nasser International Forum has announced the organization of a visit to the Egyptian Police Academy as part of the tenth day's activities of the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership. This edition is being held in May under the theme “Egypt and the United Nations: 80 Years Representing the Global South,” under the generous patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and in partnership with the United Nations. The fellowship brings together around 150 young leaders from across the world, representing a wide range of executive and professional backgrounds, in addition to a number of influential and community-active youth.

Accompanying the visiting delegations were Major General Ismail El-Far, First Assistant to the Minister of Youth and Sports for Youth Affairs and Government Relations; Hassan Ghazaly, Founder of the Nasser International Forum and Director of the Global South Youth Office; along with senior officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The Forum stated that the visiting youth were welcomed at the Egyptian Police Academy by Major General Hany Aboul Makarem, Assistant Minister of Interior and President of the Academy, along with other academy leaders. General Aboul Makarem extended his warm welcome to the participants, emphasizing the importance of this visit in strengthening international youth relations and promoting cultural and knowledge exchange. He conveyed greetings from the Minister of Interior, who closely monitors and attaches great importance to this visit, reflecting the Ministry’s belief in the pivotal role of youth in shaping the future and its commitment to supporting initiatives that foster responsible and capable youth leadership on both local and global levels.

Major General Ismail El-Far expressed his sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Police Academy, for its strong support and constructive cooperation in organizing the visit. He highlighted how this collaboration reflects the spirit of institutional integration within the Egyptian state, significantly contributing to the development and refinement of youth skills and experiences. This, he noted, strengthens their sense of belonging and national responsibility. He also emphasized that the visit exemplifies purposeful institutional cooperation aimed at preparing a conscious and qualified generation capable of confronting future challenges, through direct exposure to the vital security and training efforts undertaken by the Ministry to preserve national safety and stability.

Anthropologist Hassan Ghazaly, Founder of the Nasser International Forum, stated that the delegation’s visit to the Police Academy represents a pivotal part of the fellowship due to its significant educational and training value. In his speech at the academy, Ghazaly described the institution as a national model of discipline, development, and institutional excellence. He praised the academy's role not only in Egypt but also in supporting and training security personnel from sister nations in Africa and the Arab world. He also expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception and professional organization, affirming that the visit strengthens international cooperation and knowledge exchange, while instilling in participants a stronger sense of belonging, responsibility, and appreciation for national institutions’ role in safeguarding peace and security.

The Nasser International Forum added that the visit commenced with a documentary film showcasing the academy’s various activities and its vital role in preparing police officers in line with the highest professional and academic standards. The field tour included visits to several key academy facilities, notably the Center for Security and Strategic Studies affiliated with the Police Research Center. Participants were introduced to the center’s logistical capabilities and its role in training security cadres from African and Commonwealth countries. The visit focused on priority international training topics such as counter-terrorism and organized crime. A detailed presentation was also delivered on the center’s efforts to promote and uphold human rights and fundamental freedoms on national, regional, and international levels.

The tour continued with a visit to the Graduate Studies College, where participants learned about the college’s top academic programs and scientific initiatives that support the professional development of security leaders. The delegation also visited the Egyptian Peacekeeping Training Center, which is dedicated to preparing national and foreign security personnel for United Nations peacekeeping missions using the latest international methods and standards. They then proceeded to the Police College, where they attended a comprehensive presentation on the college’s educational and training activities for cadets. The visit concluded with live field demonstrations by the college’s male and female cadets, showcasing their exceptional discipline and operational skills.

The Nasser International Forum concluded its statement by conveying the gratitude expressed by the participants of the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership following their visit to the Egyptian Police Academy. Participants extended heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Interior and the Police Academy for the warm reception, generous hospitality, and excellent organization. They praised the academy’s longstanding and leading role—not only in training police officers in Egypt but also in contributing to the development of security personnel across the Arab and African regions through specialized training programs and strategic partnerships that enhance their capabilities to address contemporary security challenges. They also expressed admiration for the advanced academic and training systems in place and affirmed the importance of continuing such constructive cooperation to support regional and international peace and security.

It is worth noting that the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership is a pioneering platform designed to equip a new generation of youth leaders at both the regional and international levels. The fifth edition of the fellowship comes as part of Egypt’s ongoing commitment to supporting the causes of the Global South, promoting intercultural dialogue, and sharing its developmental expertise and best practices in leadership, governance, and community engagement.
