The Nasser International Forum announced in a statement this Wednesday morning the organization of a visit to the Egyptian Military Academy by the youth delegations participating in the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership. This visit comes as part of the thirteenth day of activities of the fellowship, held under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in partnership with the United Nations, and with the participation of around 150 young men and women from various countries around the world, representing diverse executive disciplines, along with a number of influential youth leaders in their communities.
The participating delegations were welcomed by senior officials of the Egyptian Military Academy in the presence of Major General Ismail El-Far, First Assistant to the Minister of Youth and Sports for Youth Affairs and Government Relations, and Mr. Hassan Ghazaly, Founder of the Nasser International Forum and Director of the Global South Youth Office, alongside several leaders from both the Military Academy and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The visit began with a group photo, followed by an introductory tour where the fellows attended a comprehensive presentation highlighting the history and evolution of the Egyptian Military Academy, its various faculties, and its pivotal role in preparing highly competent and disciplined military personnel. The presentation outlined the Academy’s different development phases and the educational programs it offers. Afterwards, the participants took a field tour of several academy facilities, including the gymnasium, squash court, and student dormitories, where they experienced firsthand the advanced amenities provided by the academy. These facilities reflect the military institution’s strong commitment to establishing a holistic educational environment that integrates academic, physical, and residential dimensions—aimed at producing distinguished cadres capable of effectively serving the nation.
At the end of the visit, the fellows expressed their deep gratitude to the political leadership and the Egyptian Armed Forces for organizing such an insightful experience. They affirmed that the high level of discipline, preparedness, and infrastructure they witnessed demonstrated the Armed Forces’ strong readiness to defend the nation and maintain its security and stability. The youth participants also commended the patriotic spirit and dedication of military personnel and noted that the visit enriched their knowledge and left them with pride in Egypt's capabilities and development path.
Hassan Ghazaly, Founder of the Nasser International Forum, emphasized that the visit to the Military Academy is one of the most inspiring milestones of the fellowship program. It offered participants a unique opportunity to closely observe the military training system within one of the most prestigious military institutions in the region. He added that the visit sends a powerful message about the importance of discipline, institutional work, and the military’s role in building a modern national state.

The Nasser International Forum also stated that the thirteenth day of the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership concluded with a visit to the renowned Koshary Abou Tarek restaurant in downtown Cairo.
In a scene that reflected authentic Egyptian hospitality, the iconic restaurant welcomed the youth delegates with a vibrant traditional atmosphere. Egyptian folk music filled the air, with the "mizmar baladi" (traditional flute) taking center stage, creating a festive and captivating ambiance. Smiles lit up faces, and the venue was adorned with traditional decorations evoking the spirit of old Cairo. The warm reception embodied the values of Egyptian generosity and openness to other cultures.
The visit turned into a cultural showcase as restaurant staff lined both sides of the entrance, greeting guests to the tunes of heritage music. Some wore traditional folk costumes, adding visual depth to the celebration. Delegates waved their national flags, showcasing unity and cultural diversity, while locals and passersby joined in the joyful scene—transforming the visit into an intercultural exchange at the heart of Egypt's capital.
The participants, representing dozens of countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, expressed their delight at this unique experience that combined Egypt’s rich culture with heartfelt hospitality. They praised the warm and genuine welcome of the Egyptian people, emphasizing that their visit to Koshary Abou Tarek was not merely recreational but a profound cultural and human experience. Many participants said the direct interaction with locals in such a lively traditional setting fostered emotional connections that would stay with them for life. They also highlighted how such initiatives enhance dialogue and understanding among peoples, especially youth, and help build bridges of cooperation to support peace and sustainable development globally.
Hassan Ghazaly noted that this visit is part of the fellowship’s comprehensive program, which aims to familiarize participants with various aspects of Egyptian culture and daily life through immersive field experiences. He emphasized that the fellowship goes beyond academic and political themes to focus on cultural and human dimensions, which play a crucial role in building mutual understanding. Ghazaly added that the ultimate goal is to prepare a generation of young leaders who are conscious, globally connected, and capable of promoting solidarity and contributing meaningfully to sustainable development. The positive interaction of the participants with each activity underscores the program’s success in leaving a lasting impact.
It is worth mentioning that the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership is a pioneering platform for grooming a new generation of regional and international youth leaders. The fifth edition reaffirms Egypt’s ongoing commitment to supporting Global South issues, fostering intercultural dialogue, and sharing best practices in leadership, governance, and civic engagement. The first edition of the fellowship was launched in June 2019 under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, as part of Egypt's efforts to empower African youth and in response to President El-Sisi’s call for implementing the African Union’s 2021 initiative to train one million young leaders, which was announced during the World Youth Forum in 2018 and 2019.
