The Nasser Fellowship Second Cohort meets with Egyptian Prime Minister
Madbouly: Egypt is proud of the interaction among young people of the continents of Asia, Africa and Latin America, which sharpens their life and practical skills.
Dr Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, and Dr Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, welcomed the delegation representing the Nasser Fellowship Second Cohort, led by Hassan Ghazali, General Coordinator of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership.
Dr Mostafa Madbouly began his speech by welcoming the young fellows and stressed that that Egypt was proud to receive young leaders from across Africa, Asia and Latin America to participate in this event. All leaders and officials around the world attach great importance to youth empowerment in various fields to engage them in the decision-making process. Young people today have a better opportunity to assume leadership positions than any time before.
From their part, the “Nasser” fellows expressed their appreciation for and sincere thanks to the Egyptian government for organizing this fellowship. They also admired Egypt’s modern experience in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development, describing their experience in Egypt as a turning point in their lives. They also pointed out that their countries valued Egypt particularly for its great role in supporting their peace, stability and development since the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser until today.
Madbouly in his turn called on the participants to make the most of the “Nasser International Leadership” Fellowship. He also mentioned that young people, under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, received unprecedented support, noting that the meetings of different civilizations and cultures would sharpen the participants’ life and practical skills.
The Prime Minister also encouraged the participants to be Egypt's ambassadors to their country, recommending them to benefit from their meetings with Egyptian officials and field visits, to learn about Egypt’s efforts to advance its economy and foster its development through various projects to keep up with developed countries. He also urged them to popularize the positive image of “New Egypt”.
On the other hand, the Minister of Youth and Sports indicated that the Nasser Leadership Fellowship -themed “South-South Cooperation”- was organized by the Youth and Sports Ministry comes under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The Fellowship Program is scheduled to last until 16 June 2021. 120 young leaders from Asia, Africa and Latin America participate in the activities under the Nasser Fellowship Program, which includes meetings with officials and field visits to introduce young people to the Egyptian civilization as well as to Egypt’s accomplishments during the last period.
The participants' positive feedback on Egypt’s pioneer experience encourages us to organize more of this type of events in the future, said Sobhi.
Lastly, the Prime Minister welcomed once more the “Nasser” fellows and wished them to use this fellowship as a tool to achieve their goals. His speech closed with this statement: "The future is yours!"
