Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union welcomes the leaders of Nasser Youth Movement
Yesterday evening, Wednesday, September 14, 2022, Prof. Alaa Abdel Hadi, head of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union, welcomed the leaders of Nasser Youth Movement. The leaders were Hassan Ghazay, founder and general coordinator of Nasser Youth Movement, and writer Ahmed Al-Juwaily, managing editor of the articles and opinions portal on the official website of Nasser Youth Movement and a member of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union.
The meeting dealt with a fruitful dialogue with the President of the Syndicate, Prof. Alaa Abdel Hadi. The dialogue included a review of the landmark works of historical leaders in the African field and African historical relations. Among those leaders came Mohamed Fayek, Minister of State for African Affairs during the era of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, and later head of the National Council for Human Rights, the great thinker and anthropologist, Mr. Helmy Shaarawy, director of the Arab-African Research Center, and the great historian Professor El-Sayed Fleifel, former Dean of the College of African Studies.
In the same dialogue, Dr. Abdel Hadi praised the importance of the youth role of the Nasser movement, which is culturally influential in youth circles. He stressed the readiness of the General Syndicate to provide all possible means of support to enhance the participation of Egyptian, Arab and African youth in cultural events, as well as providing them with a space for expressing themselves, presenting their cultural projects, and building their capacities.
In a related context, Ghazaly, founder of the Nasser Youth Movement, expressed his happiness to meet the President of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union, pointing out that he is looking forward to fruitful cooperation between the movement and the union. This cooperation aims to provide an opportunity for more contributions, cultural, and intellectual activities that serve the creative and talented youth, in the fields of writing and literature, to expand the scope of young people's literary and intellectual skills.
It is worth noting that the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union was founded by the great writer Youssef El-Sibai in the seventies. Its selection of creators, includes Naguib Mahfouz, writer Muhammad Abdel Halim Abdullah, writer Ihsan Abdel Quddous, poet Ahmed Ramy, critic Raja al-Naqash, writer Tharwat Abaza, writer Fikri Abaza, writer Ahmed Ali Bakathir, writer Abdel Hamid Joudeh al-Sahar, writer Amin Youssef Ghorab, and other major influential writers in cultural history and Egyptian and Arabic literature.
