"Nasser International Forum": Launch of the First Day's Activities for the Fifth Cohort of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership

The Nasser International Forum announced in a press release this evening, Friday, the launch of the first day's activities for the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership. The fellowship is being organized during May under the theme "Egypt and the United Nations: 80 Years Representing the Issues of the Global South," under the generous patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic. Approximately 150 young men and women from youth leaders across the globe, with diverse executive specializations, are participating, alongside a number of influential and active youth in their communities.

The Nasser International Forum added in its statement that the activities of the first day of the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership included a distinguished interactive session aimed at welcoming participants and breaking the ice, introducing the facilitation team and the participants, enhancing understanding of cultural and linguistic differences, and identifying the trainees' expectations of the program. The session also focused on fostering team spirit, teamwork, and cooperation among participants, establishing common organizational rules to regulate interaction throughout the program to enhance communication, encourage the building of fruitful professional relationships, networking, and the exchange of experiences. This session came within the framework of the fellowship's commitment to creating a supportive and stimulating environment for constructive interaction, contributing to enriching the leadership experience of participants from various countries and cultures, with the participation of a distinguished team of facilitators comprising a select group of experts and specialists, namely: Dr. Ahmed Mokhtar, a graduate of the second cohort of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership; Dr. Bassem El-Maghraby, a graduate of the third cohort; Dr. Rasha Hussein, a graduate of the African School; and Dr. Rajaa Magdy, a graduate of the fourth cohort. They presented their extensive experiences to support the fellowship's objectives and contribute to empowering participants to develop their leadership and personal skills in a diverse international context.

For his part, anthropological researcher Hassan Ghazaly, founder of the Nasser International Forum, stated that the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership is a leading platform for qualifying a new generation of young leaders at the regional and international levels. He emphasized that the fifth edition of the fellowship comes within the framework of Egypt's continuous commitment to supporting the issues of the Global South, promoting dialogue between cultures, and transferring developmental expertise and pioneering experiences in the fields of leadership, management, and community work. He affirmed that the fellowship is one of the mechanisms for implementing each of (Egypt's Vision 2030 - United Nations resolutions concerning youth - the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework - the Ten Principles of the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa and Asia - Agenda 2063 - the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 - South-South Cooperation - the African Union Roadmap on Investing in Youth - the African Youth Charter - the Non-Aligned Movement Principles).

The founder of the Nasser International Forum added that the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership will include a number of vital topics that touch upon contemporary global issues, in addition to organizing field visits to several national institutions in Egypt. This will provide participants with the opportunity for direct interaction with real-world models of successful Egyptian experiences in various sectors. He pointed out that the fellowship also includes a series of important lectures and workshops that will be presented by a select group of experts and specialists, with the aim of intellectually and skillfully qualifying young people and empowering them with the tools of effective leadership, thereby contributing to the preparation of youth cadres capable of bringing about positive change within their societies and at the international level.

It is worth noting that the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership aims to focus on transferring the long-standing Egyptian experience in the establishment and building of national institutions, promoting youth dialogue at the international level, the role of women and youth in peace, security, and volunteerism, highlighting youth issues, the issues of the Global South and South-South cooperation, raising awareness among youth about the role of the United Nations and its impact on the issues of the South, and highlighting the role of the Global South in supporting the central issues of developing countries and promoting international justice.
