Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership closes the submissions and publishes the statistics of applicants for the fellowship
Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the closing of the application form for Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership in its fourth batch, and posted the detailed statistics of the applicants for the fellowship this year, as it stated that the total number of applicants for the scholarship reached about 1185 young leaders from 90 countries around the world. This comes under the slogan “Non-Aligned Youth and South-South Cooperation” and under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic.
According the ministry’s statement, the continent of Africa represented 84.7% of the total applicants for the fellowship, and the continent of Asia represented 11.2%, while about 2.4% applied from the continent of Europe, in addition to 0.9% from the continent of Latin America, the North American continent represented about 0.4% of the total number of applicants, while the Australian continent represented only about 0.4% of the total number of applicants for the scholarship.
The statement contained the percentage of applicants for the fellowship of both genders: the percentage of male applicants for the fellowship was about 63%, while the percentage of females was about 37% of the total number of applicants, including about 2.7% of people of determination of various nationalities.
In a related context, Nasser Fellowship has announced that the target group ranges between 20 and 35 years of age, from various fields and academic degrees, from active youth leaders in their communities. Accordingly, the percentage of applicants for the fellowship who hold a PhD degree came to about 5.7%, in addition to 6.4% of applicants holding a professional master’s degree, as for the academic master’s degree, it amounted to 20.5% of the total applicants, in addition to about 4.9% who are still in their postgraduate studies, and about 7.9% of them hold a diploma, in addition to about 41.8% of the applicants for the fellowship who hold a bachelor’s degree, while the percentage of applicants from the pre-graduate level is about 12.8% of the total applicants for the fellowship.
It is worth mentioning that Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, in its fourth batch, had recently obtained press sponsorship from the National Press Authority, as well as political auspices, for the third time in a row, from His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, and it is scheduled to be held next June 2023.
