#Mauritius remained a Dutch settlement from 1598 until 1710, then it became a #French colony in 1715 after the Dutch left the island, then Britain conquerd it in 1810, and the #British colonialism is considered as the longest in the history of the island of Mauritius. 

In 1967, Mauritius held general elections, then established a new constitution, and declared its independence from the British occupation on March 12, 1968, and the Republic was declared later on #March 12, 1992.

Mauritius is considered one of the most successful countries in the #African continent. Since its independence, it enjoys a stable political, #economic and #social life, as it has a strong competitive economy, a successful #democratic life, in addition to the rich and varied culture that the country has.

There are distinguished relations between Egypt and Mauritius, as there is cooperation between the two countries in various fields and intense trade exchange. Scholarships and training courses are also organized by the Egyptian side in many fields, in line with the needs of the Mauritian side.
