The idea of multiverse has been a hot topic for the last few years but this movie uses it differently in a comic and nihilistic way to show us the absurdness of the world we live in !
The film is about a woman who discovers how to access the multiverse while she and her husband struggle to file their taxes, and she uses this power to connect with her daughter.
The film differs from other multiverse movies for it's own philosophy . The film is dense will all kinds of metaphors These metaphors are complicated, but they can also be used comically , as, the concept of a bagel , googly eyes and the idea of doing something weird to jump into another verse or gaining much power.
The bagel represents the notion that when you look at life, there's nothing but a pointless void to see. The hole in the center of the bagel is a metaphor for feelings of nothingness. And the multiverse is saved when the mother finally connected with her daughter not with a battle with the villain !
In the multiverse of the movie , not only you can find another versions of yourself , but also you can find the version of yourself with the sausage fingers or even just a rock version of you !
The film is sarcastic , full of metaphors and represents in a dramatic scientific fictional way how our choices effect our lives !

After winning his Oscar as best supporting actor , Ke Huy Quan delivered an amazing speech saying "My mom is 84 years old, and she's at home watching. Mom, I just won an Oscar! My journey started on a boat I spent a year in a refugee camp and somehow I ended up here on Hollywood's biggest stage. They say stories like this only happen in the movies. I cannot believe it's happening to me. This, this, is the American Dream."
Not only this but also winning best editing Oscar award with a team made up of 9 people , including 5 hadn't gone to a film school but taught themselves from Youtube toturials !

The film tells the real story of the Syrian Mardinis sisters who left their home escaping from a war swimming from turkey to Greece to save the people on boat they were on from sinking until Yusra Mardini , the younger sister makes it to Rio's 2016 Olympics ! Yusra Mardini has posted the speech of Ke Huy Quan on her Instagram stories for getting her too emotional after watching for the assemblance with her own story.
