Bassem El Maghraby: An Egyptian Researcher Pursuing the Nobel Dream and Rising Toward Global Leadership

In a time when ambitions often stumble under the weight of daily challenges, a unique figure emerges. He embodies perseverance, academic excellence, and natural leadership all at once. Dr. Bassem Khaled Abdel-Salam El Maghraby, a young researcher in international relations and political science, refuses to be confined by conventional limits. He advances steadily toward a clearly stated goal: winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2040.
Born on September 19, 1990, in the historic district of Giza, Bassem’s brilliance was evident from an early age. He graduated at the top of the country in the commercial diploma track, then earned his degree from the Faculty of Commerce at Suez Canal University, majoring in political science. His outstanding academic record earned him the title of Ideal Student for two consecutive years, and he served as president of the student union.
His ambitions were never limited to the local sphere. He pursued his academic journey across continents and earned both his master’s and PhD degrees from two of China’s most prestigious institutions: Jilin University and Peking University. His academic excellence drew praise from evaluation committees, and his theses were ranked among the best at both universities. Writing in rigorous academic English, he tackled complex issues such as the Arab-Israeli conflict, constitutional review mechanisms, Sino-Egyptian relations, and other pressing global topics.
What stands out in El Maghraby’s story is the sheer number of awards and honors he has received. They total more than fifty. Among the most notable are Best International Student in China by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), Best PhD Dissertation, Best Scholarship Recipient, and several awards for leadership and research excellence from academic and international institutions including the United Nations and Egypt’s Ministry of Defense.
In the academic field, he has published dozens of peer-reviewed papers in respected Arabic and international journals. He has also played a leading role in organizing more than fifty conferences and academic events. These have addressed topics such as artificial intelligence, national security, climate change, and geopolitical conflicts. He has held key organizing positions in major simulation events such as COP27, BRICS, and United Nations models.
Outside academia, El Maghraby is recognized as a born leader. He has held multiple leadership roles, including Deputy Director at the Leadership Development Center at Suez Canal University. He has also coordinated initiatives with international organizations like the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. In addition, he is a member of the Egyptian Youth Council, the New Republic Youth Union, and the Arab Federation for Human Sciences and Development.
His passions extend beyond research and leadership. He actively pursues sports, martial arts, and chess. He has won top rankings in cycling and running competitions, as well as university tournaments. He is also a certified IT trainer and a speaker at various political and cultural forums.
While many might see Bassem El Maghraby’s accomplishments as the culmination of a full career, he believes his journey is just beginning. With an exceptional goal before him, he remains committed to contributing to the building of a strong and prosperous Egypt and a more just and cooperative international community. He hopes this journey will culminate in being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2040.
