Continental Youth Advisory Council for the African Free Trade Area Agreement

The Independent Continental Youth Advisory Council on the African Free Trade Agreement is a youth-led body across the African continent. It was officially launched during the Africa Youth Summit, November 2021, by the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete, in the presence of officials of the Africa Free Trade Zone secretariat. Under the auspices of the African Union, within the framework of technical and technical cooperation among developing countries and member states of the African Union.
The council was one of the outputs of a continental training camp, held with the participation of young business leaders and policy makers on the Central African Free Trade Area. In promoting the work of the African Free Trade Area.
Accordingly, the Independent Continental Youth Advisory Council on the African Free Trade Area was launched from the Central African region, and it was also agreed that in order to accelerate the advocacy process among youth in the countries of the African continent, local branches will be established led by national youth cadres, which allows for an effective approach. and a bottom-up influencer for mobilization to ensure youth participation.
The Council "AFCFTA" consists of 9 organizational structures, working synergistically to develop and coordinate activities at the continental level aimed at ensuring the participation of African youth in the processes of implementing the free trade area at the regional level, in addition to its important role entrusted with working to ensure the participation of African youth throughout the continent in Cross border trade.
The Youth Advisory Council of the African Free Trade Agreement is also working on developing the continental strategy for youth participation in Africa for free trade, which is a guiding document that guides all assigned activities and events. The Youth Leadership Secretariat for Africa provides all technical support to the founders, while the members of the Council plan and implement activities.
