The Nile Valley Solidarity Initiative, in collaboration with Al-Mahrousa Foundation for Development and Participation, organized a series of artistic events and workshops over two days, May 23 and 25, 2024, as part of the Africa Day celebrations coinciding with the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity. The events were attended by a select group of researchers, media professionals, and young leaders from the Nile Valley. Additionally, several civil society activists were honored for their contributions to the Nile Valley community issues, including distinguished journalist Saif Al-Buraq for his journalistic role and his educational and awareness support to the Sudanese community in Egypt, particularly those displaced by war. Director Mahmoud Al-Adawi was also honored for his contribution to producing artistic works in collaboration with the Gange Training Center, which participated in 16 international festivals resulting from workshops with Egyptian and Sudanese children. Coach Tarek Tower, Director of the Gange Center, was recognized for his efforts in helping Sudanese residents in Egypt integrate with their Egyptian counterparts.

The first day of events, held on Thursday, May 23, included a workshop titled "Community Mechanisms to Enhance Egyptian-African Communication and Cooperation to Combat All Forms of Hate Speech and Exclusion." The workshop covered a range of concepts related to community solidarity, national integration, and how Egypt has welcomed those fleeing war from various nationalities. It emphasized Egypt's role as a nurturing state that embraces cultural diversity while rejecting ethnic or tribal blocs that refuse to integrate into Egyptian society or categorize individuals based on any criteria.

The second day of Africa Day celebrations on Saturday, May 25, took place at the historic Sultan Qaitbay Complex in the Al-Gamaliya district. It featured a variety of artistic workshops, including a musical concert led by artist Hiba El-Jazouli and her band. Additionally, the Sultan Bazaar for Egyptian and Sudanese handicrafts showcased products from both countries at the Sultan Qaitbay Complex in Al-Gamaliya, Cairo.
