Dr. Talaat is currently a consultant at the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development affiliated to the Ministry of Planning & Economic Development. Previously, she worked at the Ministry of International Cooperation during the years from 2007 to 2013, and has been teaching a seminar on 'Public Administration at International level' for international master’s degree students at the University of Duisburg Essen in Germany during the year 2018. 

At  MSA, Dr. Talaat has been teaching several courses: Political science, seminar on special topics as well as public opinion for the Mass Communication students. Her research interests are on governance and comparative politics with a special focus on the Arab Region. Her first international book was published in 2020 with Palgrave Macmillan on corruption in the MENA region.
