The African youth participating in the "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership" were given a tour of the Pyramids and the Sphinx to look at the panorama region and learn about ancient Egypt civilization.

That event took place on the sixth-day of the activities of the "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership," which was launched between the 8th and 22nd of June by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports "African Youth Bureau and Central Administration for Parliament and Civil Education" under the auspices of Prime Minister D/ Mostafa Madbouly in collaboration with the African Youth Union.

The African youth were given a historical explanation of the Pyramids and how they were built. At the end of the tour, they took memorial shots and purchased a set of antiques.

The day activities also included planning a two-hour Nile cruise for the youth, during which they experienced the admirable beauties of Cairo. Along with a dinner party accompanied by music, a number of lyrical and artistic acts, Tanoura, and folklore performances.

The tour included a general assembly discussion on the ancient Egyptian culture, throughout which the historian and Egyptologist Dr. Bassam El Shamaa discussed the emergence and history of the ancient Egyptian civilization, in addition to the construction of the pyramids, and also the reasons for naming Egypt by this name and the other names it was identified by throughout history.

Al-Shamaa went over the history of Nubia, Punt land and its civilization, the historical relationship between Egypt and Africa, and the most common features between them, as well as the Egyptian kings who ruled Africa from the south, asserting that Africa taught the world and southern Egypt as well as Aswan; economy, trade and commercial relations, from ancient times to modern times. "Egypt is Africa," he declared, referring to the African countries as a singular entity.
