Non-Aligned Youth Movement

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM)Youth  Organization was established in the city of Shusha on Friday, July 29, 2022, for the first time in 61 years since the founding of the movement.

AZERTAC reported that the document, which is also called the Shusha Declaration,  provides for the establishment of the NAM Youth  Organization. It has also recorded the name of the Azerbaijani capital of culture, the city of Shusha, in the history of this international organization.

The NAM Youth Summit, which was held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, between July 25 and 29, 2022, adopted a resolution to transform the Non-Aligned Youth Network, which was established in 2019, into an international youth organization that adopts the movement's ideas, principles, and goals, and works to promote and prosper youth in 120 member states of the movement.

It is noteworthy that the establishment of the NAM Youth Network is the second initiative after the establishment of the Parliamentary Network of the NAM under the Azerbaijani President assuming the presidency of this organization. The youth organization will be based in Baku. In addition, regional offices will be established in the member countries, and the representative of Azerbaijan will head the organization for a period of 3 years as a first term.

The idea of establishing this organization was supported and welcomed by the representatives of the Member States participating in the Youth Summit in Baku, with the transformation of the NAM Youth  Network, which was founded on the initiative of Azerbaijan on October 4, 2021, into the NAM Youth Organization.  Thus, the best opportunity to participate in the  international platforms occurred.

It should be noted that the NAM is the second largest organization after the United Nations. This means that this youth organization will gather under its roof representatives from 120 member states.  The youth organization is expected to positively influence the development of youth.
